A fresh, Clown adaptation of Chekhov, hilarious - with an emotional punch.A lake. A dead bird. Four Chekhov fanatics. Leaping into action, eager to lose themselves in the lives of Arkadina, the famous actress, her son, Konstantin, and their lovers, they discover unexpected comic opportunities. Their enthusiasm and innocence allow us to see Chekhov anew. We will laugh but their delicate handling of tragic scenes will move us. There will be irreverence, but not parody, as they remain faithful to Chekhov’s themes. What starts as a game turns deadly serious.Playing with tragedy has deadly consequences.
